Support for VenturCom RTX in SPiiPlus C Library. The SPiiPlus
RTX C Library (beta release) provides real-time capabilities
between a host PC running VenturCom RTX on Windows NT 4.0/2000/XP
and the SPiiPlus controller. With SPiiPlus RTX C Library, a user
application gets deterministic and high-speed response time for
commands sent to and for interrupts received from the controller.
The user application can continue to use any standard
non-real-time Windows components, including GUI interface,
database, Web etc. The beta version of SPiiPlus RTX C Library is
now available and supports the most commonly used functions. For
more details please contact our sales offices.

The
SPiiPlus
series of multi-axis motion controllers is the next leap in motion and
control technology. The SPiiPlus
include three communication architectures: PCI-Bus, Serial
Communications, and Ethernet Communications. It is specifically
designed to answer the most demanding needs of present and future
equipment. Applications include semiconductor manufacturing and
inspection, electronic assembly, pick & place machines, testing
equipment, complex digital printing and medical scanners and imaging
equipment. Since the SPiiPlus
controllers are so flexible and so powerful, additional applications
can be handled with ease. The capabilities of the SPiiPlus
controllers include multi-axis interpolation, tight trajectories,
position and I/O synchronization, SIN/COS encoder inputs, sub-nanometer
resolution and superior position and velocity accuracy and
stability. The SPiiPlus
can handle the most demanding applications without compromising speed
or throughput. SPiiPlus
sister product, the SPiiPCI, can handle the simple axes to form the
perfect team of motion controllers cost effectively.
The heart of the SPiiPlus
controllers is a multi-processor
distributed architecture. The main engine is a Pentium
compatible motion processing unit (MPU). The real time control is the
second-generation servo processor (SPii) developed by ACS-Tech80. The
SPii provides a 120MHz RISC processor core with peripherals that meet
the needs of demanding motion control applications, all contained
within a single chip. The standard controller implements a PIV Filter,
automatic velocity feedforward, acceleration feedforward, notch and
second order low pass filter.
Windows tools including a Motion
Simulator are provided for tuning and troubleshooting the
controller. C/C++/VB based function libraries are available for
Windows 98/NT/2000. Every controller meets stringent safety and EMC
standards.
